8th Grade Science Teacher
I absolutely love teaching! I feel that teaching is my calling and I could not see myself doing anything else! I am beginning my 15th year teaching...eeek! I am extremely excited to be a part of “The Hill” family teaching 8th grade science.
I am looking forward to sharing my love of science and fostering the learning of all of my students this school year!
It is my goal to not only teach each student my subject, but to teach them skills that will help them to be the best person they can be!
My TEACHING STYLE…
is very hands-on. I am not a “pencil and worksheet” only type of teacher. Yes, we will do worksheets and yes, we will write, but we are going to be doing as much hands-on learning as possible before we write our notes and do our “self checks.” We are going to throw balls, build with play-doh, color, cut, paste…why?
Because DOING IS LEARNING! You are much more likely to remember something you have done, or even taught, verses something you have just read or written down. So this year, I hope to broaden your style of learning and I hope that you are as excited about LEARNING as I am about TEACHING!
Together, we will be SUCCESSFUL!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 17 years. We have 2 precious daughters who both attend CHISD..
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, have game nights with friends, watch my girls play sports, and serve with my church family at South Jefferson Baptist Church.
