Current Position:

I joined the Chapel Hill family in 2014 teaching 6th grade writing. Since then, I moved to 8th grade ELA.

This year I will be teaching 8th grade Reading/Writing, Honors’ Reading and Writing, and Study Skills.

Previous Position:

I began teaching in the spring semester of 2002 at Donnie Bickham Middle School in Shreveport, La. I’ve taught a variety of subjects all within the middle school setting, 6-8th

Family Information:

I’ve been a teacher for as long as I’ve been a wife – 16 years! Jeff and I were married in October 2001, and I went to work straight away (Well, we did have an amazing honeymoon in Hawaii). We have 3 girls, and Jeff has a lot of grey hair (as you can probably imagine). Piper will in 8th grade this year.  Long gone are the days when she actually wanted me for a teacher. Now she is worried about having mom embarrass her on a daily basis – such a tender age;). Then there’s Madison, our middle child. She will be in 6TH, loves basketball, candy, and her hamster, Mimbo. She’s such a fun kid! And last, but not least, is the baby, Bailey. Need I say more? She’s super creative, artsy, and sees the world through rose-colored glasses- a glass half full kind of girl. Just to be her for one day, that would be nice.

Personal Information:

In my spare time (hahahahaha) I like to take naps – naps are my favorite. Of course, I like to read. I mostly enjoy cheesy romance or anything emotionally manipulative. I also like to cook, especially when my family is in the kitchen with me. We all enjoy trying new things and have adventerous palettes.  I’ve always loved drawing, eventhough I’m not great at it. The same goes for tennis. I love to play, but my game stinks! My biggest joy is watching my Madison play basketball, Piper cheer, and Bailey dance. Watching them pursue their passions is so much fun! Any chance I get to sqeeze in a moment with my husband is just icing on the cake.
